Marie Calvez-Blais

Exhibiting in a gallery is the culmination of an atypical artistic career.

Attracted to drawing and photography from an early age, acrylic painting came later. For more than 20 years, acrylic painting has enabled me to share my emotions, to use my own techniques, to reproduce my own photos or subjects I've read about.

Taking part in exhibitions, wherever they are and whatever the scale, and talking to other artists is always a rewarding experience for me. To be awarded a prize is a joy and a stimulating form of recognition. Now that I'm in the limelight, I'm sure I'll be able to unite my creativity around my favourite themes, which are Nordic and snowy landscapes.

The destination for my paintings is 'escape' and 'originality'.
