Biography
VanCock is a painter born in 1991 and originally from central France. His way of conceiving things, his critical mind and his work have been particularly influenced by his travels and his encounters. Based in Toulouse since 2013, he expresses through abstraction, his daily life, his memories and his struggles. His work, based on dickpainting, is none other than the expression of belonging to the LGBTQ+ community, of a social critique, of a questioning of masculinity and the conventions of traditional art.
VanCock's work is nothing less than a quest for free expression inviting an unconstrained visual exploration where each canvas is an adventure for both the artist and the viewer. The use of varied techniques, shapes and colours reflect a life and its vagaries: dynamic gestures, sometimes crushing to give way to what may be an organic or geographical form.
Present in multiple exhibitions in Occitanie and in Paris, with the desire for a particular staging where the works communicate with each other, make sense and aim for visual exploration for the spectator.
About :
"VanCock does not reproach Van Gogh for anything, in a dedication that is not so much humor as a thank you, to the one who was treated in the same burst of genius and madman. None other than the madmen to overflow into the world. The madmen in whom the door of the five senses is never watertight, absorb and spit out beauty and monstrosity. The one who parodies, pastiche above all, pays homage, revitalizes. Painting to land on the bank of a dream where idiots and madmen give the measure of the world."
