Biography
Creating from recycled goods and materials is a statement in the artist's way of producing. Something evident facing everybody that we cannot carry on consuming our planet's resources no more
Hervé Coignoux, aka Jolartrecup is aware and involved in the sustainable development movement and actor in circular economy. It's according to this trend that his creations are showed today at artEthic galerie which is as well part of this deep-rooted trend.
He is a self grown artist and that allows his art to have a kind of truth, a primitive and vital expression that doesn't look for a unanimous agreement but offers some universal communication between affect and feelings that gives an understanding access to each of us
The birth of some pieces of art is sometimes evident in the way in which I look at certain items that will be part of a sculpture even they are still rusty and raw; butcher's kooks then became horns or elephant's teeth, petanques boules is a helicopter cabin. The skill is just to help them existing together.
Sometimes it's a message that is trying to go through, why is this cubic sculpture named “the intruder" . . .
