Biography
Claude Picart is a French artist born in 1965.
Inspired by the great masters of the 20th century including Fernand Léger and Matisse, not to mention the Pop Art movement, Claude Picart began a work of reflection on the deconstruction and reconstruction of those images he found or created. He uses collective memory and combines representations to give them a new meaning.
He stands out due to his use of the off-set backdrop, graphic elements and primary colors.
Influenced by the cutting paper and collage technique, Claude Picart recreates the same visual effect through painting. This aspect leads him to play around with the spectator and create wonderful mixtures and unanswered mysteries.
