Biography
My name is "Léonard Jouan", I was born in 1983 in Troyes. I grew up in the Paris region in the Yvelines. As a child I was fascinated by nature and drew many landscape sketches. I discovered graffiti in 1997 through a magazine on HIP HOP, I started by filling in blank sheets with pen and markers.
I started spray-painting later in 2000/2001, for several years, most of my days and nights are devoted to graffiti and then I turned to decorative painting.
In 2007, I obtained a diploma of "peintre en décors" in Paris, at the "atelier des peintres en décors" where I discovered the techniques of oil painting and a whole range of techniques that I use today in my creations.
After graduating, I had the chance to paint several frescoes in Guadeloupe on the theme of the jungle and the sea; but I wanted to return to mainland France and settled in the Cévennes in 2012.
In this region, I was able to find the ideal conditions to paint, in my studio most often in oil painting.
I use the long drying time of this medium to draw shapes directly into the still "fresh" paint using rags, pieces of cardboard, sometimes brushes but mostly rubber tips in which I cut notches to create additional effects.
Melamine has a particularly smooth finish that is well suited to the tools I use.
I also offer decorations and trompe l'oeil on all supports (frescoes and trompe l'oeil: spray, acrylic or oil), depending on the subjects to be carried out.
