Berto

Berto is a French artist born in 1971. A contemporary portraitist and painter, Berto is a self-taught artist who uses a lot of colors and has more than 20 years of experience as a painter.

After exploring the color in the abstract world, his fascination for women led him to start drawing and to the world of nudes. His trips to the Orient and his significative encounters developed a taste for portraits in him.

His painting style is very expressive and his portraits are like sculpted in color with a sensual and mordant incision. The color seems free but is tamed by the artist's intuition and his numerous years of practice in the world of abstraction. In Berto's work, the face is only a pretext, the subject is the painting and his constrasting and chaotic color palette, but his final goal is always harmony.
