Bertrand Amand

Biography

After a training in drawing and painting, photography and garden architecture, Bertrand Armand became a landscape artist before giving up everything and becoming a painter in the 90's. Currently, the artist lives and works in Vaudry, next to Vire.

His encounter with the American painter Ted Seth Jacobs in 1998 marked a decisive turning point in his career as he was drawn towards the trompe l'oeil easel technique. In order to achieve precision, the artist uses different techniques (gouache, painting, pastel, charcoal, pencil...) which allow him to create landscapes, still life and portraits.

This extremely realistic practice makes him stand out at several fairs and have led him to win many awards including one recently at the Biennale of Vire in 2015 and the Grand prix du salon and prix du public in Domjean in 2014.
