Biography
SUN 7 is, obviously, the child of crossings and overlaps between the word and the image, poetry and color, art and the street. At the dawn of the 1990s, he discovered the world of New York tags. Aerosol can in hand, he attacks the skin of walls, from Paris to New York. He multiplies performances and interventions in Paris, Lyon and Marseille, then in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Jakarta.... He then uses canvas, panels, metal plates... His register is mixed under multiple influences: action painting, Arabic calligraphy, Latino tattoos. But it is the word that dominates. A mesh of words, most often indecipherable and which, assembled, compose portraits, self-portraits, abstracts. Obvious portraits and coded texts, a subtle game of appearance/disappearance, where what is calligraphy, glyphs, ideograms, becomes unrealized, leaving the mystery lingering.
