Biography
Stan Maksun: Author & Artist of the Unusual
Stan is a faithful explorer of the inner alien unconscious, using dreams, symbols and meditation in order to help instigate spiritual metamorphosis.
His numerous artistic and literary endeavors combine elements of horror, fantasy and science fiction, addressing various themes such as isolation, madness, self punishment and ambiguity.
Stan has likewise been involved in projects with many musicians, writers and actors, including John Franklin star of the original 'Children of the Corn' and Dave Dictor from punk legends MDC.
His father, a NASA meteorologist, helped to develop his love for space and early horror/science fiction films.
He struggles at times with Bipolar but finds much comfort with his dog Zadie.
Education: BA in Illustration + English from U of Montevallo (1995).
