Biography

Pierre Demonchaux is an artist born in 1965 in the French Guiana.

A self-taught artist sometimes called visual artist or eco-designer, Pierre Demonchaux developed his inspiration through his numerous journeys; to Venezuela and Costa Rica for its excessive vegetation, Mexico for its cultural richness and Africa for its amazing ability of giving life to material.

By recycling materials, Pierre Demonchaux's work is part of a sustainable development approach, exploiting the effect of time on the object. He highlights the passage of time on raw material.

Pierre marvels at geographic and economic changes, that art, work and imagination can produce on the material. His creations express the multiple facets of man when facing nature. Man is often the destructor, always consumer, sometimes a protector.

His work was exhibited in 2014 at the Art Paris Art Fair.
