Modest Almirall is a Spanish painter, born in 1959.
Modest Almirall constantly explores the possibilities painting has to offer to him, he likes to experiment them all. He works with various canvas formats, and moves on from one style to another very easily, like abstraction to figuration.
In all his work, Modest Almirall refers to the scope of human beings when confronted with vastness, moreover he deliberately adds an ironic and anthropocentric background.
The artist tells us stories based on scattered fragments, and their only common link is that they were abandoned together. Indeed, it depends on the spectator to put these pieces together like a puzzle and imagine the complete tale!
