The interpretation of the elements of nature validated by the Nobel Prize Academy
Biography
Susanne Jardeback Olesen began taking art classes in the late 1970s, working primarily in oil on canvas. She later trained with Professor Georg Suttner (a professor at the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm) at the prestigious Lidingoakademi in Stockholm, where her art became more adventurous, moving from landscapes to pure abstraction.
Susanne works primarily in oil, acrylic, and sewing thread. Her sense of color is always strongly present, regardless of the medium she chooses to work in.
Susanne was appointed Nobel Prize Artist from 2011 to 2014 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences—a prestigious appointment for Swedish artists. Selected artists design the artwork for each Nobel laureate, in the form of a diploma. Susanne created artwork for the Nobel laureates in Economics in 2011 and 2014, Chemistry in 2012, Physics in 2013, and Economics in 2014.
She works from her studio in Ask, located among the beautiful hills surrounding Söderåsen National Park, east of Helsingborg, Sweden. Her abstract works, both delicate and powerful, are exhibited throughout the country.
