
Biography
Robert Del Naja is one of the founding members of MASSIVE ATTACK formed in BRISTOL in 1988, who obtained great artistic recognition from his first album BUES LINES, then international recognition throughout his career. He is known there under the pseudonym 3D.
From 1988 to today, he has participated in the writing, recording and production (vocals, keyboards, arrangements, programming, samples, artistic direction, design) of all the pieces of the five Massive Attack albums which carry everything particularly its “brand"
He puts his voice on many songs, such as Blue Lines, Five Man Army, Daydreaming, Risingson, Inertia Creeps, Future Proof, Butterfly Caught, Small Time Shot Away, Antistar, Splitting The Atom, Rush Minute and Atlas Air.
But he is cited as Bristol's first graffiti artist in the early 1980s, and was instrumental in importing American hip hop and graffiti culture to his city. He then accompanied musical performances by DJs in an art gallery in Bristol.
Alongside his career as a musician, he continues to produce, participating in the visual creation of Massive Attack, for which he contributes to all the record covers and designs the visual shows. He also published a book of his art in 2015 (3D and the art of Massive Attack). His creations are then found in magazines and record covers.
He took part in Britain's biggest graffiti art battle.
