Arte di strada spensierata

Nei primi decenni del movimento noto come “street art, Negli anni '80 la New York era la capitale dei sogni, delle opportunità e della creatività inarrestabile, con al centro un gruppo di artisti che credevano che l'arte fosse una risposta alla vita stessa. L'arte di strada era visto come un modo per rappresentare la grandezza della vita, le sue complessità, il ritmo frenetico dei tempi e, ovviamente, i suoi aspetti più leggeri. Artisti come Keith Haring furono parte integrante di questo movimento, non solo occupando e impegnandosi in gruppi underground, ma anche creando opere d'arte per cause vicine all'umanità. Haring ha utilizzato le strade e le stazioni della metropolitana come una tela per mostrare le sue silhouette iconiche animate da energia spensierata. Indipendentemente dall'età, dalla lingua o dal background, il suo lavoro riflette la sua posizione sull'amore, la sessualità, la guerra, la politica, l'AIDS e la consapevolezza sulla droga. Le sue opere sono state una luce in tempi bui, ispirando non solo un generazione contemporanea, ma anche gli artisti che l'hanno seguita, a credere nell'arte e nel modo in cui si intreccia con la vita.
