To celebrate its first jubilee, OG invites us to the sources of its inspiration. His paintings on glass are imbued with transparency, a deceptive transparency, because glass is more than a support. Stage curtain and mirror at the same time, to frame and reflect an image to the viewer. But what image is it? OG treats the portrait with restraint – so as not to reveal his own. With modesty, no doubt. A question also of nourishing the mystery. And fantasies. But unbeknownst to him, who knows, OG ends up giving us his face through apocalyptic landscapes. In the wake of the German romantics of the 19th century, literally dazzled by the southern sky, OG let himself be caught by the telluric violence of this island, as full of mysteries as the origin of its name. It is not the color that he discovers there but the light, the real one, and not that of spotlights and neon lights. He discovers there the lightning, the fire. His flash. His fire.
