Comme point de départ, on peut noter des œuvres de 1965.
After years of preparation Ambrosio has oriented himself towards a painting based on a gestural attitude from which he takes advantage. He has acquired the immediacy of the Gesture-Thought of the automatic drawings that are in the Artsper catalogue. He has theorized IMAGE-ART since the 1970s. The sign-gesture theorized by Roland Barthes (Roland Barthes Sign-Cards, 1981, Electa) is highlighted in Ambrosio's individual intuitions.
IMAGE-ART is an artistic practice that has been using the eye's ability to play on the act of GESTURE since the 1970s. The Gesture ignites its resources and makes it possible to transpose all the hopes of desire within us.
Paolo Ambrosio has an artistic training that leaves room for a deep bond with drawing. He is a complete artist due to the extreme diversity of his practice, in painting, glass fusing, in the publication of essays, in sculpture. In the painting, after signing he often wrote "me fecit" giving the image subjectivity. His essay "L'Io dell'Immagine" (editor Albatros Roma 2019) is based on this particularity.
After years of preparation he has developed his own way that takes advantage of and benefits from the things he has learned. Basically he does not reveal a school to which he belongs but his own dimension. When he is in front of a canvas or a work to create and execute there is no Master to help him. Ambrosio is alone with his sense of responsibility. Clients relate to the human dimension of him. Each of us speaks with his voice. Ambrosio does it himself and has the courage to say so. He doesn't think he's guaranteeing something extra by saying he's from a school. He is autonomous knowing all the schools, trends and culture of art. His works are all original and personal.
What does Ambrosio's artwork offer that no one else can imitate?
In essence, Ambrosio Paolo in IMAGE-ART does not reveal a school he belongs to but his own dimension of research since 1965. When he is faced with a canvas or a work to create and execute there is no Master to help him. Ambrosio is alone with his sense of responsibility. Customers relate to his human dimension. Ambrosio does it himself and has the courage to say it. He doesn't think he can guarantee anything more by saying he's from a school. He is independent knowing all the schools, trends and culture of art. His works are all original and personal. Each is individually built with its own spirit.
Since 1983, the orientation of the Arkivio gallery (with 150 Fairs since 2000 throughout Europe) has been to present works that open interesting windows into the visitor's imagination through constantly evolving proposals. For the ARTSPER gallery, the Arkivio gallery presents a core of works based on research into contemporary art for a multicultural audience. The guiding principle is to create comparisons between different generations. The art is not to reflect all the vicissitudes, the variations, the endless repetitions of history as in a large mirror, but to create its own history. In the citadel of art the works bring ideas which walk naked and bring a rhythmic force in a time which composes and decomposes impartial and impassive.
The works presented all date from the 1970s and 1980s and are a sort of summary of the work of the artist, Paolo Ambrosio, who has been active for more than fifty years. The works have two themes: chronological and thematic (Tintotela)
As a starting point, we can note works from 1965.
Our planet is just a speck among billions of stars and galaxies. Ours is a path to infinity. The taste that we find in the works reconciles us with our environment
