Etienne Quesnay is a 24-year-old artist based in Paris. Born near the sea in Normandy, it is the boredom and poetry of his childhood in the countryside that lead him to develop his universe, inspired by his father also. First spotted for his portraits on Instagram, it is then his poetic imaginary, spontaneous, feminine and very imprinted with reverie that reverences him to a wider audience. His work is focused on vague faces, color, lines and emotions. In 2019, he was identified by Artsper (the first online gallery in Europe) as a new "emerging artist" and made several content and interviews with the gallery.

Spotted by "MAD", the arty media of Le Figaro, he collaborates in 2019 with Adidas for an evening, then settles down for a live performance at La Montgolfière. In 2020, he collaborated with L'Exception, Grazia, Le Bon Marché or Villa Schweppes to leave behind a sincere and poetic imprint. Finally, he enters the AxD Collection of ArtsXDesign, a reference in terms of artistic curation on Instagram.

Etienne Quesnay’s first exhibition at the Ground Effect gallery, 28 rue Meslay, 75003 Paris, brings together many new works, like other paintings already spotted on his Instagram account. This first solo show, the artist approaches it as the end of a digital cycle. The need to go to contact, to confront reality, to arouse emotion in person, far from screens and algorithms.

This exhibition is a mixture of all the concepts developed by the artist in recent years. From his famous face to the fantasized scenes and representations of the moon, feelings, poetry and lightness. To counter the gloom, harshness and anguish of the modern world.
