The exhibition Secret Nature is a joint art project of Canadian artist Zachari Logan and Lyuben Domozetski. The main theme that unites the work of the two artists is the recreation of natural forms and the search for man’s place in nature. Zachari Logan presented his first solo exhibition in Bulgaria in 2021 on the invitation of Little Bird Place, and under the curation of Lyuben Domozetski, who is strongly influenced in his own visual practice by the works of Logan. The current exhibition includes works created as a result of a joint stay of the two artists at the Little Bird Artist Residency in the Rhodope village of Leshten. Studying and observing the landscape, the two artists create a series of works that reflect a deep insight into nature, and it’s integration of human presence in these works. Sometimes represented in uncanny ways through the depiction of plants and the non-human animal alongside the human body, in other works, in a surrealistic mode, where the human form is transformed or morphed with flora and fauna. Both artists realize their vision through the experience of observation and contemplation of the natural world, creating personal narratives that explore the intersection of gender, sexuality, memory and place. The exhibition includes drawings, paintings, ceramics, and two works are co-authored.
