Desislava Nedialkova

I am born on April 11 1973 in the town of Tryavna, Bulgaria. In 1992 I graduated from the National Arts School in Tryavna, in Woordcarving. From 1995, I work in the woordcarving workshop “Tryavna Sun", on one of the preserved streets of Renaissance Tryanva.

I am a member of the Association “Tryavna Sun". Together with the Museum for Woordcarving and Painting in Tryavna, it organized an Exhibition of Woodcarving, where my works were shown too. In 2009, to celebrate 200 years since the artisan bets in Tryavna, and by the idea of Usta Darin Bojkov, in the yard of the Daskalov House Museum was created a project named Tryavna Column, on which over 100 woordcarvers left their messages to our successors - one of them was me.

In 2015, I participated in the International Woodcarving Competition, organized by the International Fair of Crafting, in the Ethnography Museum “Etar". I won an award for inventiveness and modern interpretation. In 2016, I participated in an woorcarving exhibition in “Etar" - the successor of the competition from 2015.

In 2019, again on invitation by the Ethnography Museum “Etar", I participated in the International Fair of Crafting, representing the woodcarving craft. I work entirely on my own projects, and my topics are the Bulgarian folklore, traditions and folk style. In 2022 I was awarded the prize "Guardian of Traditions" in the Fine art category / audience and jury award/.
