Born in 1954 in Veliko Tarnovi, Stefan Georgiev is a Bulgarian artist and illustrator. He is a member of the Greek Artists Union, He lived in Athens from 2000 to 2014.
He studied at the School of Plastic arts of Kazanlak and then started studying in the department of Fine Arts at the University of Veliko Tarnovo.
He works mainly on canvas with oil paint, mixed techniques or pencils. However he also uses watercolor, pastels and acrylics. With the help of a spatula, he mixes the materials in order to get the wished deepness, thickness and effect. His paintings are figurative with a stylized and decorative style.
They are characterized by a great richness of color and his particular subjects, which makes his work particularly interesting.
In parallel to the creation of his paintings, he works as an illustrator of children's books.
His pieces are exhibited in several art galleries and private collections in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, United States, Canada and Hong Kong.
