Allias

Allias is a self-taught urban painter, born in Lille in 1989.

Passionate about discovery, creativity, and driven by a certain curiosity, he decided in 2010 to travel the world once his landscape studies were completed.

He will spend 10 years "globe trotting", passing through Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia where he will settle for several years and will concretely develop his artistic career both in

pictorial and musical level.

Another major influence in his life, Music; essentially Funk and Hip-hop, which led him to become a DJ-Beat maker under his other pseudonym, "WATT'S UP".

Having a constant need for new challenges, to challenge the supports and the techniques, ALLIAS passes easily and in music from the canvas to the mural fresco, using brush-brush, garden sprayer, roller, aerosol can...

This jack-of-all-trades accumulates influences and mixes calligraphy, pop art and graffiti through their purest form, namely their vitality and spontaneity. He gave birth to two universes which he named “Mécanic Calligraphic" and “Hybrid Graffiti“.

He succeeds in the feat of marrying abstraction and figuration, with the neo-classical representation of busts and bodies of ancient statuary which he represents in a fragmented or broken way, evoking a certain fragility and precariousness of human existence. The whole is worked in a careful balance of movements, shapes, bright colors and textures.

His painting is raw and instinctive, Allias invites us to feel the essence and the very inspiration of his works: the street.

“My work reflects my experiences and my vision of the world. In my works, I want to translate the richness of our cultures, the spontaneity and the gesture in painting. I also want to take a look at our society and invite the viewer to question the contemporary world".

Inspired by great painters, sculptors of the last centuries and street-artist of today, he refers to painters or sculptors like Kandinski, Malevich, Mitoraj, Poliakoff, Blo, Pichiavo, Smash137, Tilt to name a few. . His participation in various street art festivals around the world, performances for various brands (Bentley, VW, Huawei...), collaborations with Alliances and French Institutes and personal or collective exhibitions with renowned artists in France, Dom-Tom, Southeast Asia or Latin America are gradually pushing him towards an international career.
