Guy Mansuy

Guy Mansuy was born in 1949 in Fedala, Morocco. He lives and works in Paris.

Damaged materials, memento materials revived and made visible once again, materials organized in such a way to bring back memories. The collage-assembling (wood, paper, etc...) is accomplished thanks to the affinities of materials, colour or rhythm.

"It is not encompassed within any kind of context of narration, neither any personal mythology, but when composing, the idea is to create from nothing a new sign and evocation. To achieve this, I use all the resources of the materials.

This work of art is not accomplished without questioning, reconsideration or sudden rejection, I dispose, combine, organize, superpose and I do not hesitate if necessary to de-structure to better recompose, the aim being to achieve an osmosis between the matter and the composition which invites the eye to take a closer look."
