André Vigud

A painter based in Nantes

Vigud was born in Midlet in Morocco in 1939, and grew up there. His path led him to the other side of the Atlantic, where he has lived for more than 50 years now. This modest and reserved man slowly but surely built up a good international career. A number of prestigious places have put his work on display, not only in France but also in countries like Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Brazil, United States, Switzerland, Belgium and New Zealand.

He regularly returns to live in his beloved Morocco, a country which nourishes him with its warm and bright colours. He takes his work full of light, privacy and serenity everywhere around the world. But don't be fooled by the apparent simplicity of his paintings. The balance they emanate is the result of a series of well-designed plans, and the rich textures confirm the generosity of his work.
