Thierry des Ouches was born in Paris in 1958. Self-taught, he developed a world of very personal, poetic and aesthetic photos.
He has written many books, such as Requiem, prefaced by Jean-Loup Sieff in 1995, a first edition of Vaches, prefaced by Eliott Erwitt in1997, and Femmes in 1998 (all these three by Editions Subervie), France prefaced by Philippe Delerm in 2000 (Editions du Collectionneur) and Animaux de la Ferme in 2006 (Editions du Chêne).
Thierry des Ouches regularly exhibited in several museums and institutions such as the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in 2000. Some of his photographic work became part their permanent collection.
He earned international success since his "Vaches" exhibition at place Vendôme in Paris in 2004. Since then, he has been doing a series of exhibitions with « Animaux de la Ferme » presented on the Esplanades des Invalides (2006), in Rouen, in Lucon and in the Parc de la Tête d'Or in Lyon (2007), in Sintra, Portugal, and Chateau de Chambord (2007-2008).
