Yves Regaldi

Born in 1956, this complet artist was a painter (since 1987) before becoming a photographer. The heart, humans being, meetings, life in short, he captures a little bit of everything.

Immersed in Burkina Faso where he goes regularly, Yves Regaldi offers us through his works, a mixture of painting and travel photography focused on Africa. Without making any value judgment, his work is a vast poetic song which reflects a really intimate and deep portrait of African society, its landscapes, its people, their lives in general. And even if he remains attentive for the quaint and comical, he is especially open to the significant and typical. Pictures taken at the right moment, on the spot, he captures the attitudes, expressions, decodes the emotions of some and the fears and hopes of others.
