Biography
Jacques Tardi (born August 30, 1946 in Valence) is a French cartoonist and author. He is best known for the series The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec and for his work on the First World War. In 1985 he won the Grand Prix of the city of Angoulême and in 2011 two Eisner Awards. His work, translated into several languages, has gained recognition, even beyond the world of comics.
