Presentation

Fabrice Montignier is a French artist born in 1982 who lives and works in Montreuil. He graduated with honors from the Superior School of Image of Poitiers (ESI), specializing in engraving and photography.

Fabrice Montignier left the School of Fine arts in 2004 and came back to the Parisian suburbs with a National Diploma in Plastic Arts (DNAP) and a new passion for printmaking. Working little jobs and publishing fanzines, he started by working on the visual identity of the young lable "Distile" and then became a regular collaborator of the newpaper "Le Monde".

Far from all trends, Fabrice Montignier gradually expanded his universe composed of strange beings who navigate in the incongruity of daily life. This world that he engraves in Plexiglas, paints or draws seems like stopped in time.

He published several publications for the press (TGV magazine, TRAX, Three colors, Inrockuptibles) and has exhibited several times his engravings and published his own books. In 2006, he was selected by the Montreuil Book Fair for the exposition "Future Figures" gathering young talents of the world of illustration.
