Philippe Vignal

Born in Mozambique in 1970, I am inspired by my childhood memories imbued with the faces of women and powerful men, wild and proud. 

Even as a child, a certain mastery of line and drawing 

was apparent. Time, age and inspiration led me to probe and tame all the techniques of expression: photo, watercolor, gouache, oil, airbrush, aerosol, acrylic… 

Today, my preferred medium is acrylic paint; often "freehand" on different media (raw cotton, wood, old doors, reconstituted pallets…). 

I completely cover my black support, then the white brush brings shapes and light, strength and sensuality. 

I play light in the shade, shade in the light to bring out the volumes and support the depth. 

For over 10 years painting is my only universe. I have exhibited in major international cities  like Marrakesh, Paris, Lyon, New York, Marbella, Ibiza, Montpellier ... but most of my work is done on Saatchiart.com and social networksthat ensure visibility in the whole world. 

After 17 years in Morocco, my studio iis now back in the south of France.
