Tomek Jarolim

Tomek Jarolim is a visual artist and interaction designer. His installations question both the status of the viewer and the viewer himself, through research on digital light and the color of the pixel. His pieces take the form of generative images broadcast on a wide range of devices: screens, smartphones, video projections, editions, stage performances, or directly on the eyelids.

He exhibited Invisibles (2009) at the 14th biennial of young creators of Europe and the Mediterranean in Skopje, which allows him to tackle a sensory work that he pursues within the Diip program of EnsadLab, research laboratory of the Arts Decorative. Since 2010, he has exhibited his research on interactive lights in France and abroad: Close the eyes (2012) and Diffraction (2012), at the Fabfest at the Gaîté Lyrique, Random Series (2014) K11 — Wuhan, Afterglow (201 ) at Cmoda - Beijing, Soleils (2016) at the Tokyo Palace, or Continuum (2017 at Ourcq Blanc, Parallels (2020) at the Voltaje Festival - Bogota.

Winner of the French American Cultural Exchange grant, he went to the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, where he focused on a sound work, Ut queant laxis, choreographed by Beth Jucovy for the Innovation in dance festival in New York.

At the same time, he collaborates on projects such as Fenêtre augmentée (2011) by Thierry Fournier at the Center Pompidou, Discontrol Party (2011) by Samuel Bianchini at the Gaîté Lyrique, Browse by Motion (2012) at the Research and Innovation Institute of the Center Pompidou with Thierry de Mey as part of futur-en-seine. He signs the digital creation of Ring Saga (2011) based on Wagner's Ring of Nibelung, an opera directed by Antoine Gindt, then Wanderer postscript (2013) and Giordano Bruno (2015).

Since 2015, he has been part of the Orbe team as designer and artistic director - the collective's projects focus on mobility, cartography, situated media and the gamification of the urban landscape.
