Jean-Yves Belliard offers figuration worked like an abstraction. The canvases are often palimpsests, old canvases reused and still reused which reveal fragments of previous seasons. Repentance always reappears.
Since 2018, the work has focused on architecture, exploring modernity (its ruins, its utopias) and the precarious forms of the contemporary.
