Having studied at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, Bertrand Peyrot works in the Chevreuse valley. Each of his works, with as a support a metal plate subject to degradation over time. The content and the form are one.
Each plate is not a moment frozen on the sheet but evolves like an organic entity in perpetual movement, in a biological rhythm in perfect phase with that of the human being, the rust.
Bertrand Peyrot gives meaning to time in its evolutionary and irreversible aspect. He works with and on the form. A shape that takes shape on the steel plate due to corrosion. Let the drawing appear by itself.
The work is no longer the result of the artist's hand, but results from the alteration of the steel plate by a natural chemical reaction. The work is a product of nature.
The steel plate is no longer just the support, it itself becomes the creator of the work. Bertrand thus gives back to human beings their mortality. Each of its sheets, by biodegrading, invites us to reflect on our lives and on the importance of time.
