Presentation

This contemporary artist worked for a long time as a stylist in textiles before returning to painting. This return to Clothilde Philipon's art is undoubtedly due to her installation in the heart of Paul Cézanne's landscapes, whose luminosity and colors she seeks to capture.

The choice of motifs imposed itself on her: grandiose landscapes at any time of day and in all seasons. His desire is to put his emotions, his enthusiasms into matter.

 Techniques

The genesis of her creation comes from a clash of colors, poetry and sensitivity to a harmony of tone that overwhelms her, remains fixed in her and transforms her imagination.

Color is his mode of expression. This is sometimes light, translucent, energetic, powerful, deep, diaphanous, but always poetic. The shape, the line, the material, are pretexts, all at the service of a colored harmony. Its Sainte-Victoire mountains and creeks exacerbate the metamorphosis of the landscapes depending on the light: the yellow of midday or the orange tree of evening.

Acrylic allows Clothilde Philipon to play with layers and underlayers. The paint is sometimes liquid or paste, opaque or translucent, embellished with pastel or ink. In her brush strokes, she works between the imaginary and the real. She seeks in her paintings, to emphasize the word feel.
