Mixed media, recovery and collages on canvas, 1997 49x79cm Lionel Paul Onel, born in 1966 in Haiti. Lionel Paul dit Onel (painter and recycler with strong symbolism). Onel belongs to the youngest generation (3rd wave) of the Saint Soleil movement of Soissons la Montagne. He is the only one to recycle the textile which he uses in collage with acrylic paint. With Stivenson Magloire, he is one of those who leave the traditional modes of figuration of movement to propose their own forms.

1966 - Birth in Soissons La Montagne of a farmer father and a farmer and merchant mother. 1972 - Is initiated into painting in a small school in the locality where Tiga (Jean Claude Garoute), founder of the Saint Soleil movement, had introduced cultural rotation. Exhibitions 1997 - Cultural Festival Saint Soleil in Soissons, collective fresco Exhibition TEXACO, 75th Anniversary, "Crafts and recovery", Kinam Hotel and premises of the Ministry of Culture, Culture Creation Foundation and Les Ateliers Jérôme. 1998 - Consecutive exhibition at the World Bank headquarters in Port-au-Prince and Washington. - Onel and Tiga exhibition, hall of the Hôtel du Département de Nantes, Loire Atlantique General Council - “Onel, Germeil, Payas" Exhibition, Les Ateliers Jérôme, within the framework of the AfricAmerica Forum, Port-au-Prince, Haiti 1999 - Exhibition at the Antoinette Jean Gallery, Paris, France Individual exhibition at the Institute of Women Entrepreneurs (IFE) Port-au-Prince, Haiti. 2000 - Exhibition “Identity of artists from the Caribbean and Latin America", Espace de Retz in Paris, BID. - “New Saint Soleil" exhibition, French Institute of Haiti with No 205, special Revue Conjonction. 2005 - Exhibition in Pau, France, as part of the “Rencontres Congo Kinshasa et Haïti", organized by Carlo A.Célius for Laval University. 2006 - Art and Recycling, Duet with Joseph Casséus, Les Ateliers Jérôme, Pétion Ville, Haiti 2007 - Fresco at the Monument in Tiga, in Soissons. Competition - Winner of the poster competition announcing “Les rendez-vous de l'Erdre", Nantes. - Winner of the IDB competition, “Identities of Caribbean and Latin American artists.", Exhibition Catalog Publication.
