Yurika Horikawa

Born in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, in 1988. She creates "occhan" as a motif to express the activities of "people". The backgrounds of her works include social issues and negative elements. Still, she sublimates them and delivers the brightness and fun that people can glimpse as art. She has held solo exhibitions, participated in art fairs, and published articles on art in the Hyogo edition of the Mainichi Shimbun. She also joined and appeared in a video project for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and collaborated with TURNER COULUR WORKS Ltd. for its new product project.

She is good at flexibly grasping various situations to make the audience smile with her comical expressions without being bound by any framework.
