Rocío Verdejo

Born in 1982 in Granada, Rocio Verdejo is an Spanish photographer. She studied audiovisual communication at the University of Malaga. She currently lives and works in Madrid.

Her photographs depict the dramatic reality of life. Her works are full of symbols and irony which leads the observer to adopt a new approach to the image. The precision and theatrical aesthetics of her compositions contribute to depict the duality of her photographs, between life and death and between reality and imagination, which introduces dramatic moments during moments of absolute peace.

Her works display tragic scenes, which immediately transform into beautiful and calm ones.This relationship between life and death, full of contradictions, leaves the observer tormented, divided between the extreme beauty of the image and the cruel reality of the stories being told by them.
