Luana Fischer is a brazilian photographer and visual artist who lives and works in Madrid, Spain. Being a photojournalist for a great part of her career, most of her personal works are based on narratives, mostly related to her family nucleus.
Motherhood, the cycles of nature and the inheritance of wisdom from the elders, especially women, are constantly present in her body of work. Luana also volunteers for a non-profit association for the rights of women with mental disabilities, with whom she will publish a book of portraits in the end of 2020.
Luana was granted the Marc Ferréz Photography Prize in 2010 and was shortlisted for Descubrimientos Photoespaña twice, in 2016 and 2017.
