Jessica Cohen was born in 1986, she is a multi-disciplinary artist. Graduated from Barnard College, she lives and works in New York.
She digs at the root of "frustration" to revel her creativity. After years of figurative painting, she turned towards whirling lines and sculpted complex patterns on wood. She transforms grains of wood into a pictorial plan to renew links between color and forms. The artist goes beyond the surface to explore various mediums and techniques. Her works reconcile oppositions: natural/supernatural, abstraction/realism, order/disorder, subtraction/addition, simplicity/complexity, childhood/adulthood...Jessica Cohen's trademark is the symbiosis of opposites.
