Each dot is a moment of presence — a slow, meditative act resisting the rapid pace of digital life and inviting the viewer to observe, pause, and breathe.
Iana Cherepansky (b. 1987, Krasnoyarsk) is a artist, member of SABA. She holds an MFA with honors in Monumental Decorative Sculpture from the Hvorostovsky Siberian Institute of Arts, and studied Motion Design at the British School of Design. Winner of the ALL Women Artist Award (USA, 2021) and SABA, her works are held in the Yelabuga State Museum. She lectured at the British School of Design and Scream School. Specializing in black-and-white pointillism, she explores the meditative nature of manual technique.
With a background in digital motion design and monumental sculpture, she approaches drawing as a tactile antidote to screen fatigue and digital overload. Her works are created through thousands of hand-applied ink dots—each one a deliberate, mindful gesture.
Transforming digital concepts and 3D sketches into analog images, Cherepansky explores the materiality of time and attention. Her minimalist, monochrome compositions evoke spectral figures, abstract forms, or botanical traces, inviting the viewer into a slow, contemplative experience. For Cherepansky, pointillism is not simply a technique, but a meditative ritual—an act of resistance against the rapid pace of modern visual culture.
