Presentation
My work is most often categorized in the photographic genre of "urban landscape". However, I am reluctant to identify with any particular classification. My photographs are "urban portraiture"; typically bereft of humans while offering a formality in composition combined with a lack of spontaneity. This is a departure from most street photography. I identify and bring importance to patterns, shapes and lines that may escape the ordinary eye. My photographs are most often a result of intuition, an attempt to capture not only what I am seeing, but also what I am hearing or smelling.
My muse is the large urban environments where I catch the uncommon. My approach is “What is it that makes me want to capture this moment"? I chase the light with anticipation, knowing that my next photograph may be just around the corner.
