She was born in Nevers during the mid 70's. Her father was a pediatrician and an art lover. He passed on his passion for painting during Annick's early childhood.
In 1982, with her scientific secondary education under the belt, Bouvattier let go of the family tradition namely medical studies and got enrolled in a Fashion school: "Bercot -Marie Rucki". She did a course in fashion designing for 2 years. Her artistic creations were displayed in Paris and Villa Midicis (Rome). Her work was appreciated a great deal by professionals, which lead her to appear in trade press.
Although, she was more attracted by fashion shows rather than stores. She quickly headed towards cinema and publicity. Annick Bouvattier, the costume designer often worked in the Cinecitta studios in Rome. Due to her time spent in Italy, she loved warm and sensual colors such as sunny ocher, red-violet, deep blue, bottle green. In 1990, she mostly devoted herself to painting and from 1992 till 1996, she was Pierre Ramel's student, an adept and a model student of Mac'Avoy, he taught her the palette knife on oil technique. She worked this technique in a smooth manner and with complete transparency.
Annick Bouvattier mostly paints women who experience femininity without any false modesty.
