Abir Abdullah (1971, Bagerhat/Bangladesh) started his photography career in 1996 at Drik Picture Library, Dhaka, Bangladesh. After that, he completed the three years seminar ‘Pleasure of Life’ assigned and supported by World Press Photo Foundation Netherlands. Abir’s sensitive work on environmental issues is especially notable.

For this work series, he has received numerous awards include Mother Jones, NPPA, Days Japan, and Islamic Unity-Iran. Currently he is working for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) as Bangladesh correspondent. His photographs has been published in Time, Newsweek, Der Spiegel, New Internationalist, Guardian, International Herald Tribune, Asiaweek, Elmundo, Stern, Geo and many other important magazines as well as in the World Press Photo book New Stories and Phaidon Press’ Blink.
