Presentation

Originally from Flanders, born in a small village on the edge of the border with Belgium, Stéphanie was cradled throughout her childhood in the Flemish movement. His passion for drawing and painting begins very early, always in search of the "best". Simplicity of execution is the very definition of perfection for the artist. She made it her artistic quest: to create her perfect simplicity. Cultures and travels are his sources of inspiration.

Expatriated to Asia, it was during a stay in Paris that her work really began: the artist discovered knife painting and it was a revelation! This instrument, so raw and simple, allows him to paint with precision while keeping a part of mystery in his paintings. As an extension of his own hand, the knife is his preferred instrument. Its originality is also expressed by its relationship to the material, especially with resin. It is the mixture of authenticity in the tool, modernity in the gesture, perfection in the noise and the blurring of the movement that seduces the artist so much. All the colors and accumulated memories suddenly take shape through bright, simple and vibrant canvases. On each trip, the artist revisits his own vision of the city. It is an artistic wandering that is told, shared in each canvas. The city is treated as a real object of study and at the same time a source of inspiration. Each architectural element arouses an emotion transcribed with vitality by the painter. The urban space is revisited and denotes the playful state of mind of the artist. The artist suggests his own sensitivity to urban space. It is inspired by the positivist and optimistic vision of 19th century painters. By giving particular importance to verticality. The relationship to the movement and the immobility of the buildings creates a striking contrast composing a new proximity with our place of life. A real invitation to stroll, Stéphanie treats the city as a living organ in perpetual evolution. His own artistic reading revolves around different superimposed techniques.

She shapes each canvas as man builds his territory with sensitivity and uniqueness. Mixing photography, painting and India ink allows him to preserve the authenticity of cultures, the movement of neighborhoods and the uniqueness of each of his photographs. Strongly inspired by the charm of the Parisian capital, she is currently working on new mixed-media in order to offer a new bright and contrasting collection.
