Hugues Labiano may have been born in Bayonne in 1963, his eyes seem to be on America, a connoisseur of American atmospheres. However, it was with Spain that he began his career, directing “Matador” (Glénat, 1992), a series written by Gani Jakupi. He then returned to his true passion by directing “Dixie road” (Dargaud, 1997 ), with Jean Dufaux, and “Mister George” (Le Lombard, 2003), with Rodolphe and Serge Le Tendre.

After ten years spent drawing the United States of yesterday and today, Labiano wants a change of scenery. It does not take more for Stephen Desberg to offer him, in 2005, to explore the best of both worlds, through “Black OP” (Dargaud), a series devoted to CIA agents, which their work takes From India to Afghanistan via Russia In 2012, Labiano signed alone the two episodes of “Four Corners of the World” (Dargaud).

In 2016, he resumed the adventure of “L'Étoile du Désert”, alongside Stephen Desberg, with the publication in August of the third volume of the series which is presented as a prequel to the original diptych. The fourth volume of the series released in October 2017. In 2020, the two acolytes sign a new adventure, “The Lion of Judah” (Dargaud).
