Germany • 1972
Presentation
Pedro Boese applies a self-designed mathematical framework to his artistic work, large-format paintings and fine aquatint prints. Circles and rectangles are pushed out of the simple surface geometry into the complicated world of fractals by a simple mechanical intervention, whereby the foreground and background suddenly find themselves on the same image plane. His works often consist of individual modules that can be arranged in different ways.
Pedro Boese has been directing his artistic talent more and more to printmaking for several years. In 2017 he headed the workshop for etching in the Kulturwerk of the bbk berlin and since 2018 he has been a lecturer in etching at the Kunsthochschule Weissensee, Berlin.
