Biography
Guy Rossey's works emanate from the memories and experiences he has had during his travels. Situations and light effects mark him like flashes printed in his memory. This is the starting point of his painting, which is largely composed of scenes of life. His style is inspired by impressionism. He tends to suggest rather than describe and trains tirelessly to free his gesture to better achieve this.
Guy Rossey is self-taught. He has worked on his technique by participating in workshops with watercolorists Marc Folly, Lelie Abadie, Christine Peseux, Abel Antonysamy. He also practices oil painting with Patrick de Puységur.
Belgian, chemist, he lives in the region of Montpellier. His time is now devoted to painting. He pursues the pleasure of doing research. But here it consists in finding the effective composition, the harmony of the colors, the sought-after atmosphere and the means to achieve it. He regularly exhibits in shows in his region and has participated in the International Watercolor Show in St Yrieix-la-Perche in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
