“It was in 1989 that I started in the graffiti movement, in the proper sense of the term…“ Tag-party ”, followed by“ tops ”and what already attracted me the most: the“ graff-color ”, the "Wild style" to be more exact.

1994 dates from my first piece in "3d", a style in which I gradually add my personal touch, whether "mechanical" or "organic", but while keeping a "calli-graffiti" spirit which for me remains essential in the research of the forms of my lettering, which I refine with the different groups with which I evolve, that it is with the "truskool" a few years ago or "Leclub" more recently.

Many meetings, in the USA, in Europe and in Asia, as well as a growing interest in art were very important in the development of my style.

The passage to the canvas was a logical continuation of my work on walls, but the medium, the techniques and the themes that I explore are the reflections of my past, present or future life… ”

DER is part of the historical scene of graffiti and French and Toulouse. Member of the renowned "Truskool" (which included TILT, CEET, FAFI, 2PON, SOONE ..) and "Leclub", they not only marked their city with their colorful and multiple works, but also the history of graffiti French. Far from the Parisian vacant lots from which it is said that it is on the construction site of the "Stalingrad" metro that everything started (early 1980s), the Toulouse scene in parallel only a few years later will have developed and its own style and impose its strength and stylistic contributions. Very quickly they created bridges in Toulouse and New York.

Joined the scene of the American Old Timers (with COPE2, INK, SONIK to name but a few, and who paved the way at the end of the 70s) and then founded powerful alliances which still endure today.

They offer the grammar of graffiti a new expression. Rich in historical bases from across the Atlantic, they open the debate to more fantasy and daring and offer the entire French graffiti scene the possibility of freeing itself from stylistic rules that were hitherto strict and strongly codified.

DER has always been one of those who will remain attached to lettering and one of its most complicated forms: The Wild Style. Designed to be readable only to insiders, protecting anonymity, this studied form of each of the letters, convoluted, twisted as well as geometric, learned and complex, will become his trademark to which he will not derogate. He will push the phenomenon to the point of inserting colors and shapes of “Goldorak” thus offering a tribute just as personal as in the 80s - the symbolic date of Graffiti.
