Presentation

For me, art is making reality poetic, revealing the beauty of the world. My research feeds particularly on the observation of nature, I am inspired by the environment that surrounds me, that is to say mainly the sea. Being in nature allows me to see the details that we would not have paid attention to such as the play of light on the water, in other words a nothing inspires me.

The engraving technique used is what is called saving pruning, which consists of removing with a gouge everything that is not drawn, "we spare the line". To obtain a polychrome image, I use the technique of reduction linocut, which means that the work is progressive. To begin with there is the size of the lino plate, its inking and then the passage through the press, for each color, the operation must be repeated until the final printing. There may be 5.6 or more color passes. The number of prints is limited.

Graduated in engraving at the Estienne school, then graduated from the Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1989, I was awarded at the small format show in Lorient (Grand Prix 2021).
