Jeamin Seung

Artist, Jeamin Seung's works primarily express two themes.

First, they express the
beauty of female fertility. She has been painting on porcelain pieces that are shaped
like a female torso. She created this shape and has used it to express motifs
that symbolize the birth of life in nature.

Second, she seeks to
rediscover the beauty of traditional Korean art. Her goal is to
transform the traditional white moon jar into new moon jar that expresses
elements of contemporary Korean art. In this endeavor, she has made a quite
daring move to paint brilliant colors on a surface that is traditionally kept
white. In addition to painting on moon jars, she makes moon jar-shaped tiles
and paints some motifs from nature to express female fertility on them.

Femininity and the
beauty of Korea—these are the two themes that Jeamin Seung is focusing on now
and will further explore in the future.
