Born in Spain in 1953, Pilar du Breuil lives in France since 1975. In 1980 she debuted her artistic career, working with wood, that she uses as support on which she applies materials (concrete, plaster etc), nails diverse objects, paints, marouflages canvas or paper.
Little by little, she starts integrating photography in her creations, as it is for her a medium that gives her the possibility to tackle more complex themes that interest her. She creates series about prostitutes, abandoned places, racism, solitude, train stations, vertigo, words.
In 2009 Pilar du Breuil decided to dedicate herself entirely to photography and started using different digital tools to edit her images.
