Olivier Urfer is a self-taught photographer, born in Lausanne in 1957, living in Conches near Geneva.

He likes to photograph in black and white and in color. His photographic tools are film and digital.

He develops reportage projects in urban areas, architecture and landscape.

He is particularly interested in the impact of man on his environment and the consequences of his footprint. He likes to travel to meet other cultures.

Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Balthasar Burkhard, Saul Leiter, Josef Koudelka, John Meyerowitz, William Eggleston, Marcel Imsand, Olivier Föllmi, and other photographers are his sources of inspiration.

Olivier Urfer describes photography as a subjective gaze on the world and as the sharing of an emotion that is reflected in the nuances of black and white and color.
